Management of a patient who has undergone a coronary angiography

Case history

Arthur Laroche, 67, a widower for two years, has been hospitalized for a few hours in the cardiology unit, due to unstable angina. He underwent an emergency coronarography via the right femoral artery. Three arteries are blocked. The doctor did not dilate, and the patient is awaiting a bypass. It is 11:00 AM. Mr. Laroche has been back in his room since 07:30 AM. He is resting in his bed. He says he is a bit anxious.

The transfer report from the cardiac catheterization room indicates that his vital signs are stable. The compression dressing shows no signs of bleeding or hematoma. The neurovascular signs are normal.
